The Wife of the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Tamunominini Makinde, has been described as a kind hearted person and always supportive of the governor’s motive and work.
This was made known on Thursday by the representative of governor’s wife and the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaja Faosat Sanni, during the palliative distribution of food stuffs and other items for market women in the State at office of the wife of the Governor, Secretariat, Ibadan.
The representative of the wife of the Governor, said Mrs Makinde distributed this palliative gifts out of her generosity to let the market women in the state feel the hand of fellowship and to ensure that they are not neglected by the present administration.
She revealed that the palliatives distributed to women will cut across the state as it is in batches because of the Covid-19, and we need to observe the health official guideline that says social distances, therefore there will be subsequent one that will accommodate many market women in the state.
Mrs. Makinde however urged the market women to pray for the succeess of the present government and to pray to God for quick healing of our land.
The beneficiaries appreciated the Governor’s wife and her husband, and also pray for Governor Seyi Makinde’s successful tenure in office.
However, earlier on Wednesday the governor’s wife have distributed foodstuffs and other items to Muslim women as part of the palliatives measures to assist them during this Ramadan period.
The Gov. Wife who was represented by the Commissioner for women Affairs Mrs. Faodat Saani, visited two places which are NASFAT Oyo Zone at Samonda Ibadan and Federation Of Muslim Women’s Assocation in Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, at Akobo Ibadan.
Mrs. Makinde said the palliatives is to support the State government efforts by extending her hand of fellowship to women in the State to ease the pain and untold hardship this present pandemic has brought their ways, and in the spirit of Ramadan fasting as well.
However, the first lady use the medium to appeal to the beneficiaries and the good people of the State at large to strictly adhere to the laid down health guidelines and government directives throughout the pandemic, such as social distancing, regular hand washing, and use of the face mask amongst others.
