News Governor Abiodun approves 46 board appointments

Ogun Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has set up a committee that will develop guidelines for a safe reopening of schools for students at the final year or transition classes in the State.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun on Thursday approved 46 appointments into key boards and commissions of seven statutory bodies.

The appointments formed the first batch of appointees into statutory agencies, boards and commission.

Others are Housing Corporation, Health Management Board, State Agro Services and that of the State Bulk Purchase Corporation.

The appointees were drawn from across the major political tendencies in consonance with the administration’s inclusive governance philosophy, which emphasises leadership paradigm shift.

Bukky Onabanjo, daughter of the first civilian governor of the state, the late Bisi Onabanjo, Dr. Kunle Salako, Anthony Ojeshina and four others were named board chairmen, while Miss Nike Osoba made the membership list of Civil Service Commission.

Governor Abiodun has hailed retiring Police Commissioner Kenneth Ebrimson for his efforts at reducing crimes.

The governor, who spoke while receiving the new Police Commissioner, Mr. Edward Awolowo Ajogun, led by his (Ajogun’s) predecessor at his office in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta said under the leadership of the retired police boss, cultism, kidnapping and armed robbery cases were reduced.

Ajogun said the command under him would tackle crimes.
